Still no luck- keeps trying to dl/install all the old firmware and drivers I do not want/need. Since neither of those processes stopped things, I ran gpedit.msc and configured the windows update settings to "do not include drivers" when it updates.Īll times computer was restarted prior to trying winupdate again. Also trying to download biometric drivers which are also disabled. ![]() Once I run winupdate, it KEEPS trying to download drivers for things I do NOT want enabled, nor do I need downloaded- Bios is already flashed to latest, (reluctantly at that, since this problem happened on a prior clean install attempt and I didn't shutdown in time to stop it so I decided to just flash to latest since it cannot be rolled back to factory bios) and winupdate keeps trying to download a previous bios. Also running OOshutup to disable all driver updates. Barely started process, just wifi enabled drivers installed, that's it.ĭisabled updates in device installation settings. Generally, as a personal opinion, I would go with "old OS with old Hardware and new OS with newer hardware" There are lots of divided opinions on this subject on this and other forums and I think each side of the argument/debate has its merits. think DX11/12 at least, which I believe is not available for Win7. ![]() In your case, whilst your hardware was recently superceded with the last round of Intel CPUs, it is still more than competent to handle P3Dv4 and I think Win 10 would be a better choice. However, I believe that Win 7 is better for particularly FS2004 and elderly hardware. Same reason, some people stick with a flightsim platform, which is 10 years old
